How Inglewood Arrests Enter the County System
Inglewood Police Department officers patrol the city and arrest people suspected of crimes. After the arrest, the person is transported to an LA County jail for booking. Women are taken to Century Regional Detention Facility at 11705 S. Alameda Street in Lynwood. The Inmate Reception Center at 450 Bauchet Street handles intake processing.
The booking record shows Inglewood PD as the arresting agency. This is how you identify Inglewood arrests in the county database. The record also includes the person's charges, bail amount, booking date, and where they are being held. Once someone is booked, they are in the county system regardless of which city made the arrest.
Searching Inglewood Recent Arrest Records
The LA County Inmate Information Center is the primary search tool. Enter a first and last name. Complete the reCAPTCHA step. The results will show anyone in LA County custody matching that name. California's Government Code 7923.610 requires law enforcement agencies to disclose specific arrest details. The Inglewood Police Department must share the arrested person's full name, occupation, physical description, date of birth, arrest and booking times, arrest location, circumstances, bail, release status, and all charges. This includes warrants, parole holds, and probation holds. The law applies equally to the LA County Sheriff.

For Inglewood arrests where the person is in county jail, use the LA County inmate search. The CDCR tool only covers state prison.
Disclosure exceptions are limited. An agency can withhold a detail if it would put someone at risk or damage an active investigation. Outside those situations, the arrest information is public record. This law has been in effect since January 1, 2023.
Sealing an Inglewood Arrest Record
Not every arrest leads to a conviction. When it does not, California offers ways to seal the record. Penal Code 851.87 allows a person to petition the court to seal an Inglewood arrest that did not result in conviction. The petition goes to Los Angeles County Superior Court. If granted, the arrest record is sealed from most background checks and the person can legally deny being arrested for that charge.
Automatic relief is also an option. Under AB 1076, the California DOJ reviews records monthly and automatically clears qualifying arrests. Dismissed misdemeanor charges from January 2021 onward are eligible. So are misdemeanor arrests where no charges were filed within a year. The DOJ handles this without any application from the person. It covers Inglewood arrests meeting these conditions.
