Mono County Arrest Records Quick Facts
Mono County CrimeGraphics Arrest Search
The Mono County Sheriff uses CrimeGraphics to publish arrest and booking data online. CrimeGraphics is a third-party platform used by several small California counties. It shows recent arrest records, booking information, and sometimes incident reports. You can search by name or browse recent entries. The tool is free to use. No account is needed. It works from any computer or phone with an internet connection.
Mono County sees fewer arrests than most California counties. The permanent population is very small. But during ski season at Mammoth Mountain and summer recreation periods, the population can spike. Arrests during those busy times will show up in the CrimeGraphics portal. The system covers all bookings processed by the Mono County Sheriff regardless of which agency made the arrest.
Note: CrimeGraphics data may not update instantly and could lag behind actual bookings by a short period.
How Mono County Handles Arrests
The Mono County Sheriff is the main law enforcement agency for the county. There is a small police department in Mammoth Lakes. The CHP also operates on highways through the county. When an arrest happens in Mono County, the person gets taken to the Mono County Jail in Bridgeport for booking. Staff there enters the arrest data into the system. The record includes the person's name, charges, booking date, bail amount, and physical description.
California law mandates the release of this data. Under Government Code Section 7923.610, law enforcement must share arrest booking information with the public. The statute lists nine categories of data that must be disclosed: full name, occupation, physical description, date of birth, arrest time and date, booking time and date, arrest location, circumstances, bail, custody status, and charges. Mono County must follow this law for every arrest processed through its jail. The only exception comes when disclosure would endanger someone or hurt an active case.
Mono County's remote location means the jail is small. Some arrestees may get transported to a neighboring county's facility if space is limited or if medical needs require it. In those cases the booking record would still originate with the Mono County Sheriff.
